Just because you’re not an Olympic athlete – or maybe an athlete at all – doesn’t mean you can’t join in the fun. To help celebrate our role for the past 32 years as the official airline for Team U.S.A. athletes traveling to and from training, competitions, trials and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, we introduce our Proud to Fly Challenge.
The great news is, you don’t have to go out and train to play the game. You can test your skill right from the computer - by solving brainteasers and then sharing the results with others.
We pose multiple-choice trivia questions on our Proud to Fly page
. Each question that you view in the Proud to Fly Challenge harks back to one of the 16 Olympic Games that United has flown our U.S. Olympic team to – for example, the 1988 Seoul Games. (You answer 16 questions per challenge out of a total of approximately 40 different questions.) The questions incorporate fun facts and figures relating to the particular game or the Olympic city.
For every correct answer you give, you earn points. Questions vary in their point value, and you can easily view the points by looking at the top-right corner of the question box. If you don’t feel like answering a question, no problem. You can choose to skip it and move to another one.
After you submit your answer, you’ll see the results – and if your answer hits the mark – the number of points you’ve earned. When you’re done playing the game, we add up your points and assign a Gold (400+), Silver (200-399) or Bronze (0-199) medal based on the final score.
Want to see how you’re doing? You can view a dashboard showing your all-time high score as well as the number of questions you’ve answered correctly or incorrectly and the number that you’ve skipped.
You can even see how you stack up against the competition – that is, your fellow players. Compare the percent of questions you answered correctly with those of other participants.
Proud of how you’ve done? Share it with your friends on Facebook and dare them to test their skills as well.
