The United App for mobile devices streamlines your travel experience by giving you travel services for United — all in one convenient place.
You can use the United App on your iOS or Android mobile device to:
- Book flights* on United directly from the app on your mobile device
- Store your mobile boarding document for easy access at security and during boarding
- Check your upgrade status and view in-flight amenities, departure gates and more
- Receive automatic updates on your mobile device for selected flights
- Select seats, choose Economy Plus® and extra legroom seating

- Zoom in on terminal maps for help navigating through the airport

Download the app
Click on either the Google play or App Store icon to access the website where you can download the United mobile app for your device.
View your reservations
Any reservations that you book directly in the United mobile app or that you make while signed in with a OnePass or MileagePlus number are stored automatically in the Reservations section at the bottom of the screen. To add other reservations, use the More button followed by the View Reservation button at the top-right corner of the screen to import and view your reservations. Then, enter your confirmation number and last name, and you'll have the option to save your upcoming travel plans to the Reservations section. As soon as your flight is eligible for check-in, the Reservations area is updated with a "check-in" link.
Get your boarding documents
If you are in the app, and are eligible to receive mobile boarding passes, we will automatically store your boarding pass to the app’s wallet for a single traveler record. For all other times, we will send the link.
Choose to have your mobile boarding document sent directly to your mobile device via email for qualifying itineraries. No printing is necessary. Once you receive your boarding document, simply scan the barcode on the screen at airport security checkpoints and at the gate during boarding. If a seat change, upgrade or change in departure gate occurs, your boarding document can be refreshed to display the new information, provided your device has connectivity.
Mobile boarding passes are stored on your device from the time of check-in until the flight has departed, so you can access them even when you don't have an Internet connection. If you're connected, the boarding pass updates automatically with the latest gate information or any seat changes.
Check in from your device
Mobile check-in is available worldwide for flights operated by United, United Express, Continental and Continental Express. Use your mobile device to check in anytime within 24 hours of your scheduled departure. The latest possible time for check-in, baggage check and boarding may vary based on your departure airport and destination.
Sign up for flight status notifications
To get flight status information, including departure and arrival times, subscribe to a particular flight from the Flight Status menu, and then click the Notify Me for Flight Updates button on the Flight Details page. Now sit back and watch as your phone receives automatic updates about that flight.
As long as your mobile device has an Internet connection, you can receive flight status notifications via email — even if you don’t have the app open at the time when the flight update happens.
If you use a Web-enabled mobile device that isn’t iOS- or Android-compatible, you can access many of these same flight features and services on our United mobile website. Type “united.com” into your device’s browser, and you will be directed to mobile.united.com, where you can choose from a menu of options.
OnePass members: Use TripAlert
TripAlert is a service for OnePass® members that sends an automatic voicemail message or text message to your phone, or an email message to your inbox, indicating if your flight is on time, delayed or canceled, as well as letting you know when you can check in online and print your boarding passes.
