Beginning April 30, 2014, United passengers traveling through Boston’s (BOS)
Logan Airport will notice some big changes. We invested over $30 million to help build a new 97,000-square-foot Terminal B concourse, and it now houses all United flights at the airport under one roof.
The expansion includes 10 gates in a stunning, state-of-the-art facility. Massport
, the Massachusetts Port Authority, is investing the remainder of the overall $172 million project costs.
Upon arrival at the terminal, passengers are greeted by our spacious new ticketing lobby, more efficient security screening checkpoints and a modern United ClubSM
that is uniquely Boston.
The new concourse features a number of self-service tools our customers and employees have suggested. Our research shows that nearly half of all passenger requests fielded at our customer service centers can be resolved without the help of an agent. And with our savvy travelers more empowered, our employees can focus on customers who require extra assistance.
Highlights of the self-service amenities include:
• Two dozen self-tagging baggage kiosks, allowing customers to weigh and tag their own luggage
• Barrier-free work stations, giving agents the freedom to easily help passengers who need extra assistance
• Self-boarding units in eight of the ten new gates, letting passengers scan their own boarding passes, making boarding quicker for everyone and facilitating on-time departures
BOS United Club
The new terminal also houses our new 8,000-square-foot United Club, offering customers spectacular views of the airfield and nearby Boston Harbor through 180 feet of exterior windows.
The club offers seating for 178 in a sleek, modern setting with a nod to aviation throughout. It is also wired for travel with multiple power outlets and complimentary Wi-Fi to keep you connected.
The first flights out of the new Terminal B expansion are scheduled for April 30, 2014. Check back on unitedhub.com
