Today we announced plans to launch new daily nonstop flights between Houston and Munich and to begin a second daily service between Houston and Tokyo in spring 2014, subject to government approval.
“The new flights from Houston further expand United’s unmatched route network and offer additional travel opportunities with our joint venture partners ANA and Lufthansa,” said Cheryl Reed, United’s Houston regional sales director. “In addition to adding more nonstop service from Houston, the flights are conveniently timed to provide one-stop connections at the hub from destinations across the Americas.”
The new Munich service will launch April 24, 2014, using Boeing 767-400 aircraft with a total of 242 seats – 39 in United BusinessFirst and 203 in United Economy, including 70 Economy Plus seats.
Flight 104 will depart George Bush Intercontinental Airport daily at 4:10 p.m. and arrive at Munich’s Franz Joseph Strauss International Airport at 9:50 a.m. the next day. The return flight 105 will depart Munich at 9:25 a.m. and arrive at 2:15 p.m. the same day. (All times are local.)
We are the leading U.S. carrier to Germany, operating year-round nonstop flights from its U.S. hubs to five cities in the country, including daily nonstop service from Houston to Frankfurt.
The additional Tokyo service, beginning March 30, 2014, will operate using Boeing 777-200 aircraft with a total of 267 seats – 50 in United BusinessFirst and 217 in United Economy, including 72 Economy Plus seats.
Flight 1 will depart Bush Intercontinental at 9 a.m. and arrive at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport at 12:35 p.m. the next day. The return flight 2 will depart Tokyo at 6:55 p.m. and arrive in Houston at 4:55 p.m. the same day.
The second Tokyo frequency complements United’s existing daily Houston – Tokyo service, which began in 1999.
