Since launching the Thanking YOU campaign last month, employees across the United system have received heartfelt tokens of appreciation for all their hard work. Using hashtag #UAThankingYOU, employees have been sharing all the fun ways co-workers are giving and getting thanks.
There have been pizza parties, chili dogs, potlucks and cupcake swaps. Movie tickets, symphony tickets and football tickets have been awarded and there have been lots of local celebrations and recognition of individuals who go above and beyond.
Some rewards were really creative, like the teams at Dallas-Fort Worth and Newark airports who received Life Savers candy as a reminder that safety is each employee's top priority. Or the JAX (Jacksonville, Fla.) employees who thanked retired Customer Service Representative Robert Smith for his years of dedication with a handmade quilt made of old uniforms.
We've also been receiving warm thanks from customers who truly appreciate our helpful employees. ATL (Atlanta) customer service team members (pictured above) Loretta Dozier (middle right), Wilene Ewo (left) and Michael Johnson (right) were thanked by a customer after a quick thinking resolution helped a mis-informed customer through a stressful situation while shipping his pet.
Keep an eye out for Thanking YOU campaign signs next time you're at one of our Hubs and take a second to thank one of our hardworking team members. They're working hard for you.
Wow! We’ve been getting big thanks in many forms all over the country. Here’s a sampling:
· In Houston, (IAH) Supervisor Fred Garces thanked Joseph Clayton for ‘going the extra mile’. Mr. Clayton was presented with a gasoline gift card.
· At Bradley International Airport (BDL) Co-worker Deb McNulty was recognized for delivering outstanding service.
· Joe Allooh, RSE was chosen as recipient of $500 UNITED Travel Voucher as part of THANKING YOU campaign for his nine years of consecutive perfect attendance.
· Mike Erbeck, Managing Director for IAH Customer Service, recognized that his Sunday night team had really been hit hard as of late, and wanted to be sure they knew how much they are appreciated. Sandwiches and chips were provided for all 1150 agents on duty after 17:00 from a combination of donations and IAH's employee appreciation fund.
IAH even started a Thanking YOU wall thanks to Supervisor Kathy Loveland, Christina Garcia of HR and Manager Susanne Caraffa.
