Explore the wilds of China in Disneynature's Born in China

By The Hub team, March 31, 2017

China is an extraordinary destination — known, perhaps, for its bustling cities, rich culture and powerful traditions. But there is more to China to explore, more to discover — beyond the biggest cities, beyond the expected.

We have been committed to flying to China for the last 30 years, and we're proud to provide more non-stop flights to China than any other U.S. airline. We currently fly non-stop to five destinations, including Chengdu, Hangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai and Xi'an. All of these flights connect travelers to important cultural, economic, commercial and technology destinations.

In celebration of Disneynature's groundbreaking film Born in China, we are excited to announce that Adventures by Disney® will be offering a unique travel experience to China for United MileagePlus® members. This excursion includes a 12-day stay in China with premium hotel reservations, transportation and tours of extraordinary sites that showcase its traditions, natural wonders and events including the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an, meeting pandas in Chengdu, and visits to Hong Kong Disneyland® Resort and the brand new Shanghai Disneyland®.

You can also experience China like never before through Disneynature's Born in China, in theaters April 21. The film takes a peek inside the lives of three animal families: a giant panda who's having a hard time letting her cub grow up, a golden monkey who feels left out when his baby sister arrives, and a mother snow leopard who struggles to provide for her family. The stories are compelling and China's expansive backdrop is stunning.

Celebrate Earth Day by seeing Born in China opening week and Disneynature will make a donation in your honor to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to protect wild pandas and snow leopards.

For a fun in-flight family activity, download Disneynature's Born in China Activity Packet, available at disney.com/borninchina. It's filled with information on different wild animals who call China their home, along with activities including crafts, games and puzzles.

United also supports ecological responsibility through our industry-leading Eco-Skies program, in partnership with the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute to provide travel for research scientists to study pandas in their natural habitats in China. We also continue to support combating the illegal wildlife trade through our partnership with Conservation International. We are committed to environmental sustainability and we have several initiatives aimed at minimizing our impact, while also making continuous efforts toward animal conservation. By The Hub team, February 19, 2021

This week, we were honored to become the first U.S. airline to join the UNICEF Humanitarian Airfreight Initiative to combat the COVID-19 pandemic by transporting the vaccine and other critically needed supplies to underserved areas of the globe.

"We are committed to helping the global community in any way we can, and we all must work together to do our part to bring this health and humanitarian crisis to an end," said Director of Cargo Specialty Products Manu Jacobs.

We will leverage our expertise to transport these critical pharmaceutical and healthcare shipments around the world safely, efficiently and expediently. We are proud to partner with the United Nations to support this global effort and provide equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines.
